HKOTA encourages all members and those who are interested to participate in various training courses, workshops and seminars organized, co-organized or recommended by the association to maintain and promote professional standards of occupational therapy in Hong Kong.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Beginning from 1st October 2006, there will be some changes in HKOTA's administration of continuing education, which are highlighted as follows:

1. Our “Continuing Education Sub-committee” and the “Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accreditation Sub-committee” will merge together to form a new “Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Sub-committee”.

2. It is our honour that HKOTA has been granted a status of CPD Accredited Program Provider (APP) by the OT Board. Being an APP, we shall allot CPD credit points ONLY to the CPD activities organized or co-organized by HKOTA. (Note that a list of APPs is posted on the website of the OT Board).

3. Beside CPD activities organized or co-organized by the APPs, the OT Board will accredit other programs for the award of CPD credit points submitted by non-accredited program providers or individual occupational therapists. For details of the submission of such an application, please refer to the “ Manual for Accreditation of CPD Program ” of the OT Board.

4. In accordance with OT Board's principle, all occupational therapists are required to maintain their own record of participation in CPD activities. HKOTA will only maintain a record of those programs operated by ourselves.

5. We strongly recommend our members to peruse all the details of this voluntary CPD scheme by visiting the website of the OT Board at HERE if you are interested in such a participation.

6. Members will be issued statement of CPD credit points, gained through HKOTA's organized CPD programs, individually and annually. Administrative surcharge will be levied if they demand the Association to issue extra copies to themselves for whatever reasons.
